Complete Federal Student Aid Exit Counseling

DEADLINE: Friday, May 5, 2017

With graduation fast approaching, we know you have many things on your mind. There is one very important thing that you should not lose focus of...your student loans!

If you have ever received a federal subsidized, federal unsubsidized, or federal PLUS loan, you are required to take exit counseling when you graduate, drop below half-time enrollment or leave NYTS.

Exit counseling is your last occasion to learn about your rights and responsibilities regarding your student loans. You will review repayment plan options which determine the amount of your monthly payment and you’ll learn what to do if you run into trouble making those payments. You will also learn about strategies to help you budget and manage your money after NYTS.

  • This interactive counseling session takes just 20-30 minutes and you must complete it in a single session.
  • Once you have successfully completed this process, the Financial Aid Office will notified in 24 hours. The Registrar will be instructed to place a hold on your official transcript, robe and/or commencement invitations if you do not complete exit counseling by May 5, 2017.
  • Don't forget to list New York Theological Seminary (G02674) as the school you wish to notify of your completion.

Please contact the Financial Aid Office at with any questions regarding exit counseling or to let us know you have completed it.
