Dear NYTS community:
Thank you for your patience and flexibility over the past few weeks as we have worked to implement necessary changes in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Despite the unforeseen disruptions to our campus work, please know that our faculty and staff remain committed, now more than ever, to supporting you in your academic journey. Although our NYTS offices are currently closed, our faculty and staff are ready and willing to assist you via email or phone, should you have any questions or concerns. We know these are extremely stressful times, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you are in need of support to address difficulties. As you continue to work toward completion of your academic requirements, even in these unprecedented times, please rest assured that we are dedicated to standing with you.
To assist in your academic planning, here are a few important notes/reminders regarding graduation requirements, registration and financial aid. Please take a few moments to review them.
I – Information for Graduates
April 3, 2020: Deadline for Credo and Capstone Submission
Please submit an electronic (PDF) version of the final paper to your reader.
Note: You are responsible for printing, binding, and paying for any extra copies of the document you want for yourself.
April 15, 2020: Deadline for Completing Exit Interview
After submitting your Credo/Capstone, please email your reader to schedule a time to complete an exit interview.
April 30, 2020: Deadline for Clearance of All Financial Obligations
To be eligible for graduation, please note that all financial obligations must be satisfied with the Business Office by the highlighted clearance deadline. Please contact Ms. Wanda Lang (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss payment plan options or other related concerns.
May 8, 2020: Deadline for Electronic Financial Aid Exit Counseling for May 2020 Graduates
If you have taken out a federal student loan, you will need to complete the Electronic Financial Aid Exit Counseling. Instructions for completing the session can be retrieved here.
II – Summer and Fall 2020 Semester Registration
June Session: Registration for June courses is still ongoing. Registration forms can be completed online here.
April 20, 2020: Early online registration for July, August & Fall 2020 semesters will begin. Course schedules will be posted at this time. Please check Moodle for periodic updates on registration details and instructions.
Note:Please be in touch with your academic advisor to discuss your course selections before registering for classes.
III – Supervised Ministry
Please note that Supervised Ministry sessions will proceed as scheduled and be conducted online. Details regarding completing required hours for site placements will be discussed in the upcoming April 18 session.
IV – Financial Aid Deadlines
2020–2021 NYTS Scholarship Application
Friday, July 31, 2020: Returning Student Deadline
Friday, September 11, 2020: New Student (Fall 2020) Deadline
To receive loans for any enrollment period between September 2020 and June 2021, a 2020–2021 FAFSA must be completed no later than August 31, 2020.
